ประวัติความเป็นมา

            1998 is deemed as the year of the great changes in the customs broker business where the Thai Customs initiates the Customs Broker Ranking Project to elevate the service provision for the higher quality. In this regard, the qualifications of the authorized customs brokers are as follows:

 

                  - Being the thai juristic person;

                  - No history of offense record;

                  - Having at least one customs specialist certified by Thai Customs;

                  - Granting Thai Customs the security for damages and failures resulted from customs clearances;

 

            Therefore, the Thai Authorized Customs Brokers Association (TACBA) was founded on October 21st  , 1998. It is the combination of of authorizes customs brokers with the 79 initial members where such number has been annually increased. The authorized customs brokers are provided with the privilege regarding customs clearance which could not be reached by any unauthorized customs brokers.

 

   Current TACBA

 

                 TACBA was founded as the non-profit association acting as the center and representative of the mass members the third-party organization since 1998. Therefore, the thai Customs has foreseen the significance of the Association as the representative of all customs brokers. Additionally, the Association has been contributing to providing useful information for government agencies and carrying forward to originate the rules beneficial for domestic importation and exportation.

 

                 In this regard, to build its trustworthiness, it is the major duty of Thai Authorized Customs Brokers Association to enhance the competences of the representatives of the customs brokers with transparency and international standard and to render raqid and quick service to importers/exporters. Hence, TACBA has consecutively arranged the annual training program to provide expertise to the employees of the member companies which will be applied in continuing professional developmnt. Additionally, TACBA has constantly caught up with the news concerning the changes of rules affecting the members and regularly notified the member thereof including assisting the members in problem-solving regarding customs brokers works.

 

                 TACBA determines to be consecutively developed in the future in order to assist in occupational elevation and development of customs brokers to be recognized with international standard and to play more important roles in the trading system by acting as the close coordinator between Thai Customs and government agencies to increase the level of competitiveness of Thailand in the international trading stage
